Family Dental Care FAQs
How does a family dentist handle patients with dental anxiety?
Family dentists like Dr. Walker often use various techniques to help patients with dental anxiety, such as providing a calm and friendly environment, offering sedation options, and explaining procedures in detail to ease concerns. If you or a family member experiences dental anxiety, be sure to discuss it with Dr. Walker so she can accommodate your needs.
Are there any special considerations for elderly family members in dental care?
Yes, elderly patients may have unique dental needs, such as managing gum disease, tooth wear, or fitting dentures. Pipe Creek Dental Center is experienced in caring for seniors and can offer treatments and preventive care tailored to their specific needs, helping to maintain their oral health and comfort.
What should I do if my child loses a baby tooth prematurely?
If your child loses a baby tooth prematurely due to injury or decay, it's important to visit the dentist to ensure there's no damage to the surrounding teeth or gums. Dr. Walker may recommend treatments like a space maintainer to prevent the surrounding teeth from shifting into the gap, which could affect the alignment of the permanent teeth.
