Contact UsWhat Is A CT Scan?
Also known as a CAT scan, a CT scan (CT) is a computed tomography scan that permits dental professionals to see inside of your body. Using a combination of x-ray technology and a computer, a CT scan creates images of your organs, bones, and other tissues. CTs show more detail than regular x-rays, making them a more comprehensive diagnostic tool. Dr. Carolyn Walker uses Planmeca ProMax® 3D Classic technology to know precisely where to place your dental implants by showing her the correct angle, rotation, depth, width, and height of both the implant and the restoration. The successful treatment of several dental issues hinges on an accurate diagnosis. CTs allow Dr. Walker a detailed insight into your condition so that a thorough treatment plan can be created.

What Can I Expect During A CT Scan?
Using this digital diagnostic equipment, we can review a complete 3D image of your skeletal anatomy, including your skull, neck, jawbone, and teeth. You will feel no pain or discomfort as we use the machine so all you have to do is relax. Depending on the area of the images, you will either lie down or sit up in a chair. Within 15 minutes, we’ll know whether implants are ideal for you and exactly where and how to place them, long before we ever begin the procedure. Once we have collected the necessary images, we can place the implants. Once the implants are in place, they will work to: maintain your dental health, stabilize your bite, preserve your facial contours, and maximize the function of your mouth.
